LOHAS stands for Life
Style of Health and Sustainability and researchers have been working to develop
LOHAS houses to tackle climate change. In Koriyama city in
Japan, a team from Nihon University has created comfy and eco-friendly houses
to withstand hot summer and cold winter. They use solar power and geothermal
heat for energy source and recycle rain for all water needs around the house. Their
ultimate aim is to supply the household energy and water needs
self-sufficiently.
